A Spring tonic for your liver

Liver detox smoothie ingredients
Your liver can get a little overwhelmed at this time of year as energies start to rise. It's the best time to consider a gentle detox. Eliminate all processed foods and sugar, cut out animals products. Boost your vegetable intake and replace breakfast a few times this week with a green smoothie. My ultimate smoothie is made with these ingredients:

1/2 lemon, zest and juice
1/2 Apple
Handful Kale/cavelo nero
Fresh Parsley
1 tsp Spirulina
1 tsp Maca powder (optional)
150ml filtered water
Kale or another brassica for its iron and magnesium for cognitive function
Lemon juice to cut through fats, while the zest contains the most vitamin C
Spirulina or another green superfood, rich in minerals, cleansing for liver and a digestive system booster.
Maca is thought to be an energy booster 

Place the ingredients in a bullet-style blender to create a yummy green smoothie your liver will give the heads up to. Remember to drink within 15 minutes of making, otherwise it starts to lose its magic.
